Facial reflexology has been known in all Far Eastern countries such as China and Japan. However, it was in Vietnam where the main developments to the therapy were made in the 1980s. The therapy has its roots in a technique developed by Professor Bui Quoc Chau and a team of doctors, research scientists and acupuncturists in Ho Chi Minh City which he named ‘Facytherapy’
You just stimulate the points using a pen or fingers – never needles. The points can also be stimulated through the use of hot and cold volcanic stones to enhance treatment.
The great attraction of facial reflexology is that it is capable of being useful in all sorts of ailments and pains. As an example:
This massage is a fusion of hot and cold basalt stones, as well as salt mineral stones.
The hot stones will melt away tension and fatigue. The stones are used to gently massage the face and neck, helping to increase circulation and eliminate toxins. In addition, the massage firms and tones the facial muscles.
Cold stones help repair and work the sinus areas, acting as the perfect decongestant, as well as toning, relaxing and soothing the skin.
Incorporating both Hot and Cold stones together in a facial massage increases the beauty and youthful appearance of the skin by encouraging blood flow to the face, flushing the lymph nodes of toxins and feeding facial tissue with nutrition and oxygen. This helps to reduce wrinkles and cause the skin to glow naturally.
We also use salt crystal stones which ground and balance the body’s electromagnetic field, central nervous system and meridians. Salt Stones helps to boost metabolic function, assists the absorption of minerals into cell walls, replenishes electrolytes that facilitate electrical communication between cells, balances pH, reduces muscle cramping, and improves connective tissue health in the organs. Additionally, rock salt helps to stimulate the appetite and improve digestion.
Rose Quartz contains a number of minerals including iron, magnesium, sodium, manganese and oxygen. Thanks to its ability to transfer energy, this crystal has a positive effect on the body, mind and soul. Rose Quartz promotes a number of skin functions, including:
In essence, this treatment promotes cell growth and helps regenerate skin.
Tibetan Quartz Crystals are also used to perform a relaxing non-surgical face lift massage stimulating cell renewal and re-energise the skin whilst promoting a feeling of wellbeing with the added benefit of the healing powers of the Tibetan crystals. Tibetan Chimes and Tibetan Singing bowls are also used during the treatment.
The different techniques incorporated in this facial stimulate blood and circulation, which improves facial colour and helps tonify the underlying tissue. Sound Therapy can be used to treat any illness or ailment or physical, emotional, as it works at a fundamental energetic level.
It uses musical tuning forks in a non-invasive way to re-align and balance the body’s natural energy fields and to help clear energetic blockages. These tuning folks are used on acupuncture points on the face, neck and around the eyes to stimulate the body’s natural energies (Qi). Because muscle groups are addressed as well as the acupuncture points, the face lifts itself, via the stimulation and through the muscle toning and tightening action.
